Public votes place Adri in top 6 for Mrs Bold

- Alida de Beer

The Garden Route finalist in the Mrs Bold South Africa pageant, Adri Watts, is among the top six finalists who currently have the most public votes.

With two months already into the competition journey, votes for finalists have been pouring in, according to the organisers. The finalist with the highest number of votes will be awarded the prestigious Public Choice Award at the crowning ceremony on 26 October.

Contestants are judged on their community involvement and commitment to social causes. Watts is building a portfolio of her community involvement in the Garden Route and the ways in which she has brought about some positive change. She also has to raise sponsorships to qualify for the final event.

Watts says she is growing in the process. "I thank God that I can make a difference and that there are people out there believing in me and supporting me. Together with them we can make an impact."

She is hosting 'A Night in the Wild' in aid of the Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday 3 May at De Dekke Restaurant in Great Brak River.

Tickets cost R250 per person, or a table of eight can be booked at R2 000. The dress code is casual. Bookings can be made on 082 408 1658.

Watts matriculated at Outeniqua High in 1994 and qualified as a somatologist at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She has worked at Fancourt and overseas, but recently returned to South Africa.

Garden Route citizens who would like to vote for her, must SMS 'Bold 06' to 47439 (R3 per SMS).

Voting lines close on 30 July.
