Cascades Island Lodge

This is another, much more secretive place than Chobe Water Villas. It’s a 45-minute boat ride from Kasane through the winding channels of the Chobe floodplain; how the driver found the small inlet leading to its hidden jetty among all those channels, heaven only knows. Cascades has just four chalets, each the size of a medium house, with a large stone bath, private swimming pool and view of the river. The deck of the lodge overlooks a hippo pool. Apart from chilling and watching the river laze past, and the safari activities (offered at both lodges, such as game drives and cruises, fishing and bird watching), you can visit a local village or take a stroll to the 2 000-year-old baobab on the island.
