THE RED ROOSTER

Whenever I travel to New York, my first stop is The Red Rooster for chef Marcus Samuelsson’s simply delicious Mac and Greens as well as the ever so soft and sweet meatballs. Marcus was born in Ethiopia, raised in Sweden, and now lives near his restaurant in the heart of Harlem. I think he has succeeded in achieving his objective of opening a place that channels the current spirit of the neighbourhood while celebrating its memorable past. Lunch is from R116 ($9).
