Float away Flowy and fluid styles are key this summer, and we love the versatility of a reversible kaftan, which can go from the beach to bar with ease. Wear yours loose or belted, and pair with gladiator flats for day and strappy heels for evening.

A jumpsuit is another multitasking must and looks fabulous in trendy aqua, cobalt blue or nude, worn with casual sandals, metallic sneakers or peeptoe platform boots.

Show those shoulders Exposed shoulders are sexy without being too revealing, and the look suits all body types. Flatter your figure with an off-the-shoulder blouse worn with highwaisted cut-offs, loose widelegged trousers or skinny jeans. Boho lovers should try a ruffled off-the-shoulder dress cinched in at the waist with a leather belt and flats.

3Trytrousers For an easy, stylish and slimming look, invest in well-cut cigarette trousers with a sexy side slit on the ankles. Complement the style with ballet pumps, sandals or heels, and pair with a loose halter-neck or one-shoulder top.

4Playwith prints Summer features lots of bright colours and bold prints, but the trick to wearing such busy pieces is to keep the silhouettes simple. If you don’t want to wear full print, go for pops of it on a blouse or clutch.

5Dressup The dress style of the season is the trapeze, and it’s so easy to wear: smarten it up with block heel sandals, or down with ballet pumps or flats. Look for a black, lightweight fabric with accordion pleats for a cool 1920s vibe. Your other options: a striking print or crisp monochrome.

6Stepout From baby pink to tan, you can never go wrong with nude shoes, which look especially great against bare legs. Go for lace-up heels in mesh or suede, sneakers, open-toe ankle boots or gladiator flats.

7accessoriseneon accents and geometric designs. If you’re rocking prints, you don’t need much jewellery – one oversized bling earring will make a statement.

poolside cool Add shine to raise your bathing costume game. A full, sparkly costume works on all figures and can be worn multiple ways: on its own at the pool or beach, under a kaftan for a soirée, and as a top with jeans, shorts, cigarette trousers or a skirt. Look for interesting details like twisted necklines.
