The Voice UK

8AM Hit the snooze button on my alarm – twice. 8.20AM Wake up properly. Check my phone and reply to songwriters I work with. 8.35AM Throw on gym clothes and eat a couple of oatcakes with avocado. 9.30AM Arrive for my class, which is a mix of dance and body conditioning. 11.10AM Make a vegan fry-up (though I’m not vegan): veggie burger, kale, aubergine and avo. 12.05PM Arrive at the studio. My bandmates and I try to write a song and get a rough demo down in three hours. 3PM Jump in a taxi to the Savoy Hotel for a gig. 3.25PM Squeeze in press interviews on the phone, then do a sound check. 5.30PM Sit through two hours of hair and makeup, gossiping with my team. 7.35PM More interviews and some filming. Then I snack on hummus and carrots. 9PM Time to take to the stage. We perform a mix of rehearsed material with me calling songs out to my band. I like the surprise element with live music. 10.30PM The show’s over, so it’s time for a late supper. at Yauatcha in Soho: I order cheong fun with prawns and crispy bean curd. 12.10AM I’m now home and watch The Wolfpack, a documentary about six brothers who spent their childhood in total isolation, re-enacting movies. 2AM Finally go to sleep, worried about having to be up again at 8am. 11AM (UK time) Arrive at my hotel in London and phone my mom. Then I grab a juice and I’m ready for the day.
