Forget that old adage that sequins can only be pulled off at night – this cool ensemble worn by model Hailey Baldwin proves that fashion is all about breaking the rules. Case in point: a Valentino party frock paired with sneakers, socks and a Current/elliott denim jacket. The finishing touch? A retro choker. Love!

Growing up in Amstelveen, Netherlands, Martin Garrix (aka Martijn Garritsen) was a musical child, having learnt how to play the guitar at just eight years old. But his interests quickly shifted after being wowed by DJ Tiësto’s performance at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In fact, Martin was so inspired by Tiësto’s track ‘Traffic’ that it prompted him to teach himself to compose music.

In 2012, he was signed to Spinnin’ Records while studying at the production school Herman Brood Academie in Utrecht. Following his graduation, Martin started ghost-writing tracks for artists like Avicii and Shermanology.

It was his solo release, ‘Animals’, that launched Martin’s international DJ career. Since then, he’s performed at Ultra Music Festival in Europe and Miami and has collaborated with the likes of Usher, Ed Sheeran and DJS Afrojack, Hardwell and Dillon Francis. Last year, he started his own record label, STMPD RCRDS, and was ranked the number one DJ in the world by DJ Magazine. Catch him on the decks at Ultra South Africa this month.
