I’m currently obsessed with florals and garden themes, which I’d like to incorporate into the brand’s signature style. We like to keep our dresses whimsical and romantic with lots of attention to detail. We also love to play with delicates – layers of soft nettings, velvet leaves and petals – to add texture to our gowns.

My inspiration

We have a beautiful garden at our studio in Joburg that fuels my creativity. Beautiful fabrics are also one of my most prominent sources of inspiration, as my mind thinks of imaginative ways I can play around and mould them into beautiful garments. The images chosen relate to what we do at Vesselina – creating dresses that capture what we love about couture.

The look and feel

Whether it’s with a print, appliqué or lace detail, I incorporate elements of nature. The styles of these dresses are also in line with our silhouette: soft and effortless with a whimsical and romantic feel. By incorporating sheer fabrics the dresses are kept delicate with a certain mystical element.

Luxurious satin, silk and chiffon are our fabrics of choice. Our main colour story would be blush pink, nude and blue hues with a touch of green, grey, metallic and white.
