Hangwani’s Rubicon brand embodies effortless style, tailored craftsmanship and timeless design.

This is a mood board for Rubicon’s Spring/ Summer 2017 collection It’s a celebration of an enlightened woman with a soul that encompasses a modern lifestyle. My muse is a woman who has a history that is remarkable beyond comprehension.

This is a sensual collection that embraces innate femininity: characteristically elegant with a touch of bold.

My inspiration

My love for nature, and the beauty and freedom of being a woman were my biggest inspirations.

The look and feel

The silhouettes are inspired by the vintage styles of the ’50s era. The reference for hair and makeup is a classic vintage look that is glamorous, yet understated. I pulled images from vintage hair and makeup archives. The signature staple for Rubicon is an art form – in this case, leaves because nature is my first love.

I plan on using green printed chiffon fabric (something that brings verdant land to mind), reptile print chiffon, off-white chiffon and off-white jacquard. The colour palette is fern green, off-white and black.
