Feuds that could’ve been avoided

-

A black feathered tutu provided key evidence in the trial of me versus the accusatory flatmate. Lesson: don’t wear clothing that sheds if you’re trying to sneak in and out of someone else’s room to ‘borrow’ a top. Guilty as charged.

Stop arguing about who left crumbs on the counter, who didn’t scrub the toilet and whose turn it is to take down the rubbish. Hiring a cleaner could save friendships. Sprawled on the sofa in my underwear, sweating after a run and demolishing a packet of biscuits (I know), I didn’t quite anticipate my flatmate returning with five work friends. A simple heads-up would have saved a heap of embarrassment.

It’s good to talk when something is bugging you. Less so when it’s a passive-aggressive message carved into the butter or written on the steamy bathroom mirror.
