Makeup artist Yuui tries the new trends on models (and triplets!) Sisi, Ani and Desi Simeonova.

If you like bright liner

This daring orange floating liner screams ’60s-era. 1 Prep your lid with a translucent powder. It stops the liner from moving. 2 Grab your liner in one hand (stabilise that elbow on a table) and a small mirror in the other (hold it below your chin so you can see your whole lid). Check for your lid crease, then draw an arched line just above it with [1] NYX Vivid Brights Liner in Vivid Delight (R129.95). 3 “Draw fast,” says Yuui. Clean up any wonkiness with cotton buds and a non-oil-based remover. Sisi’s verdict? “It’s different, but not too extreme.”

If you want a mod red lip

“Nineties-era glossy lips are making a comeback,” says Yuui. “Plus, it has this undone, effortless feel.” 1 For silky lips, prep with a sugar scrub like [2] Ciaté Scrub Stix (R270). 2 Line and fill the lip with a pencil. Do the rest of your makeup and let the colour stain your lips for 10-15 minutes. Dab it off with a tissue, and then apply a second layer of pencil. TRY [3] Clarins Lipliner Pencil in Red (R280). 3 Lastly, apply clear gloss from the centre outward. We like [4] Rimmel London Oh My Gloss! in Crystal Clear (R89.95).

If you like silver lids

A painted-on metallic finish in subdued shades is striking. 1 Use a primer, like [5] GOSH Eye Shadow Primer (R165), on your top lid to ensure the shadow stays on for longer. 2 Blend a pale shadow all over your lid, slightly above the crease. TRY [6] Rimmel London Magnif’eyes Mono Eyshadow in Q-jump (R79.95). 3 Then dab metallic cream over your entire lid, like [7] Revlon Colorstay Crème Eye Shadow in Earl Grey (R99.95). Abstract is cool, “So don’t worry about blending, it’s better if each lid doesn’t look exactly the same,” Yuui says.
