The easiest ponytail upgrade

Repeat after us: the more perfect you try to make this braided ponytail, the less fun it will be!

Step 1 Spritz away Squirt salt spray through dry hair until slightly damp. Blow-dry on low heat, scrunching with your fingers. For a little extra volume, blast your roots with the dryer.

Step 2 Add volume Once hair is dry, spray crown with dry shampoo for extra hold. Take 8cm sections near your temples and make tight, even braids. Secure. Step 3 Rake your hair Gather your hair and plaits into a ponytail. Tie, then cover the elastic by wrapping a small strip of hair (approximately 1cm) around it. Pin in place.

Step 4 Braid it up Separate a small section of your pony and plait to the ends. Tie. Repeat with a smaller piece. Tug gently on the edges of the braids to fatten them up. Spritz on texturiser and ruffle hair.
