Rewind to 2015 and the global hit baking series The Great British Bake O crowned Nadiya Hussain as its winning star baker. Today, this former amateur baker has rapidly become a household name in the world of TV chefs in just four years, joining heavyweights like Nigella Lawson, Mary Berry and Jamie Oliver to name a few.

Nadiya was first encouraged to bake by her husband, who entered her into the contest, and is now a hugely popular chef and bestselling author. Along with juggling her responsibilities as a working mother, Nadiya has also battled a panic disorder and come through the other side to prove that no matter what, she will succeed in her quest to create and share recipes that reflect her and her family.

Furthermore, as well as being an amateur chef who has helped to diversify the line-up of chefs on British TV, Nadiya’s success on The Great British Bake O has seen her bake for people the world over including Queen Elizabeth on her 90th birthday back in 2016.

Nadiya has not one but three shows coming to BBC Lifestyle (Dstv channel 174) over the coming months: Nadiya’s Party Feasts kicks things o™ on Wednesday 27 February at 8pm. Then at 8.30pm from Wednesday 6 March, comes the eight-part series Nadiya’s Family Favourites, which showcases easy, beautiful and showstopping recipes for all ages to enjoy. Then to mix things up in May, Nadiya turns the spice dial up with Nadiya’s Asian Odyssey, in which she makes a surprising DNA discovery which sees her travelling to far-flung places exploring the people, places and foods of Thailand, Cambodia and Nepal.

So if you’re a food lover, and enjoy cooking for your family and friends, Nadiya Hussain is one not to be missed.
