PAPRIKA CHICKEN WINGS These chicken wings are braaied first and then slathered in sticky sauce to make it even tastier.
(enough for 6) 1,5 kg chicken wings 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar 2 teaspoons chilli powder 2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon mustard powder 1 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 1 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons apricot jam 2 tablespoons soya sauce juice of ½ a lemon
1 Dry the wings with paper towels. Mix together the sugar, chilli powder, paprika, mustard, pepper and salt. Rub half of the mixture over the chicken and put the rest aside. 2 Braai the wings over medium coals for about 15 minutes (you should be able to keep your hand over the coals for 10 seconds). Sprinkle the rest of the spice mixture over the chicken. Turn the wings every now and again until the skin is crisp and golden brown. 3 Mix together the jam, soya sauce and lemon juice in a plate. Dip the wings one by one into the sauce and then braai it for another 5 minutes. Serve right away. go! Drive & Camp says This spice mix is also delicious with other chicken pieces, especially thighs.
