HONEY-AND-BEER CHICKEN FILLETS

Easy sosaties

With this easy method you can braai juicy chicken breasts and serve on sosatie sticks without cutting it in blocks first.

Ingredient­s

(enough for 4) 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, halved lengthwise 250 g streaky bacon

FOR THE MARINADE

¾ cup beer ¼ cup honey 1 teaspoon chilli flakes 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard ¼ cup soya sauce 2 tablespoon­s olive oil

Here’s how

1 Mix together the ingredient­s for the marinade. Put the chicken and the marinade in www.weg.co.za a Ziploc bag and leave in the fridge overnight. 2 Thread the chicken and bacon widthwise onto the sticks. Do it as follows: Put 4 strips of bacon and 3 pieces of chicken in turn next to each other (start and end with a piece of bacon) and secure with three sosatie sticks – one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. 3 Braai the sosaties over medium coals until cooked through, all the while painting the chicken with the marinade. Take the sosaties off the coals and put on a plate. Pull out the middle sosatie stick and cut the meat where the stick was so it makes two separate sosaties. Serve immediatel­y. go!
