No one needs a lot of convincing to travel to the South Coast. It has a wonderful climate, the warm Mozambique current, and the multitude of things to do make this a superb holiday destination – for anyone from families looking for fun in the sun to pensioners in search of some peace and quiet. The area around Winklespruit is excellently situated. Not only is it central – Durban is only 40 km away – but the South Coast is also not too far for holiday makers travelling from the interior of South Africa. And of course there are also a few proper caravan parks that will definitely satisfy even the most hardto-please campers. If you leave Gauteng early, your camp can be ready by sundown, and you can relax next to the campfire listening to the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean’s waves crashing next to you.

ATKV NATALIA The big kahuna

You get family resorts and then you get super family resorts. Natalia falls firmly in the latter category. Sometimes you drive into a campsite and right off the bat everything just feels right. This is certainly the case here. The place is neat, there’s loads of space, you’ll be hard pressed to find a safer spot, and there are more than enough activities to keep you and yours happy during your well-deserved holiday. There’s even wi-fi at the stands and you get 30 minutes free internet access per day. If your teenage son used up his share, he’ll have to choose between buying an ice cream or more data with his pocket money. Natalia lies next to Illovo Beach, and in these warm waters you can play to your heart’s content and then soak up some rays on the beautiful, clean stretch of sand. Most days of the year there are lifeguards on duty. And if the weather doesn’t want to play ball, you can take a dip in the large heated pool or lounge on the pool chairs next to it. Natalia’s recreation area is as complete as they come, and besides the pool (there’s one for small kids too), there’s putt-putt, volleyball, trampolines, a big jungle >
