Go! Drive & Camp

Both sides, same side

The Commander’s two doors are opposite each other in the side panels in front of the wheels. The “main door” is on the left side where the outside kitchen is, and the other door opens up into the shower tent. For several years now Conqueror has been using corner steadies that are different from the jack type you see on other manufacturers’ trailers. This is a corner steady in the true sense of the word, and props up the trailer on the rear corners. It folds up against the rear panel of the trailer and then unfolds for the foot to reach the ground. You unfold the first arm, just like you’d unfold your own arm. There’s a foot piece at the bottom that’s planted securely on the ground. From the foot, another arm – half the length of the longer arm – folds out upwards. This arm is pointing at the body, and the last arm folds out of this one to right up against the body. This arm’s tip fits into several holes in the hull, depending on how far from the ground the foot piece is. The last arm locks just like your elbow when you press it in the middle, and then props up the trailer. It’s remarkable how quickly you’re able to unfold the corner steady without any tools, and the same counts for folding it back up. The Commander has two beds – the one to the right of the door takes up the entire inside of the hull, and the other folds out over the nosecone. To fold up the one above the nosecone you first have to unzip the flysheet’s bag, otherwise you won’t be able to reach it later. For this you have to climb onto the nosecone. The entire front section of the hull folds out over the A-frame from where U-frames unfold to stretch the canvas over the bed, followed by the flysheet.
