4 THREADING THE NEEDLE

-

Once all the prep work is done it’s time to send the materials up to the stitching room, where the machinists put together the final product. They have the help of a wall of samples that serve as guidelines for what a specific bag should look like. A bag’s sheets start at the back and the job slowly makes its way up to the front row, with each machinist responsible for a particular panel or two. As the bag nears the front end, the task and machines become more complex as pockets and handles are added and the machinists start to close the bag. The cover that each bag comes in is also made here, with one person dedicated specifically to this task.
