CONNECTING good people to needy organisations since 2015, Forgood, will be hosting their annual Forgood Inspiration Awards breakfast, which will be held at Mercedes-Benz Visitors Centre in June.

Forgood encourages all Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), caring groups, schools or individuals to enter their story on how they are making a difference within their community. Entrants stand a chance of receiving a prize of R40000.

Submissions open on Monday with the closing date on April 25, and all churches, businesses, government and NGOs are also invited to get involved.

No late entries will be accepted.

Forgood provides passionate people with access to various organisations that are in need, whether it be through volunteering or donations.

“Our goal is to change the supper conversations in our homes, to discuss the possible, the positive, the hope, and the good; not only for today, but for our children’s children,” Forgood member Brad Taylor said. The Forgood Inspiration Awards were started in an effort to recognise and support the inspirational work being done by various organisations, individuals and groups.

In order to qualify for the awards, entrants need to write a 150-word profile introducing their organisation or group, and a 100-word motivational letter indicating how the prize money would contribute to the difference they were making in the community.

Entrants are also required to prepare a 10 slide PowerPoint presentation giving an overview of their organisation, as well as the inspirational work they do and how it benefitted the community.

Last year 18 inspirational stories were submitted, 480 leaders attended and R300 000 worth of awards were made to those in need. Forgood hopes to inspire, support and connect the community for many years to come.
