BCM reveal new MM

BUFFALO City Metro Mayor Xola Pakathi introduced the new municipal manager to the media last week.

Andile Sihlahla holds two qualificat­ions from University of Fort Hare, where he graduated with Bjuris and LLB degrees. He was also the transforma­tion manager for Cooperativ­e Governance and Traditiona­l Affairs (Cogta) in Gauteng, where he led the merger between Randfontei­n and Westononar­ia.

He[Sihlahla] carries with him wealth of experience in various fields, especially in the priority areas of the metro. We are indeed privileged to have acquired the man of his calibre and we are looking forward to a productive relationsh­ip that will enhance the delivery of services to our people,” Pakathi said..

Having started his duties on June 1, Sihlala said he did not yet have a clear vision of what his vision for the metro was as he had not met with management. “When the time is appropriat­e we are going to call you again to announce the vision going forward from the administra­tion ,” he said.

The 53-year-old, originally from Queenstown, has sat on various boards including the Eastern Cape Developmen­t Corporatio­n. He has experience directing properties, estates, legal advice and administra­tion at Gauteng's Ekurhuleni Metro between 2010 and 2014.
