Parlotones to rock The Venue

- QHAMANI LINGANI

THE Parlotones are going to be performing hits like Push me to the Floor, Should we Fight Back and I'm Only Human at The Venue at Hemingways this Saturday.

The last time the rock group was in town, in April at the Africa Bike Week, they received an overwhelming reception.

Lead singer Kahn Morbee said they could not wait to perform for their fans this weekend.

“The last time we were here, it was a festival and now we are doing our own show and it is not the same. When you are performing in a festival, there are time constraints, but now a whole two hours will be ours. It is going to be electrifying,” said Morbee.

They will be performing a mix of old and new songs. “We have been in the industry for nearly 20 years and this is just a celebration of our success with the most important people in our career, the supporters.

“We write our music to connect with people and the fact that we have survived the industry, means we are authentic and people appreciate that about us,” he said.

Morbee said the Parlotones appreciated the support from their fans. “We are nothing without them. We hope they get to see our level of commitment at the show this Saturday.”

Tickets are R150 per person and are available at Computicket. Doors to The Venue will open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
