CABARET FOR A GOOD CAUSE
THE Arts Theatre is ready to wow audiences with their annual Valentine’s production every night from February 14 to 24.
Each year the Arts Theatre produces a Valentine’s Cabaret in order to raise funds for local charities. This year a sleek and stylish casino-themed cabaret, titled Roll of the Dice, is set to entice audience members with 10 days of entertainment.
Produced by Vicky Luff and Kerry Hiles, who will also be performing, the show will see Daniel Anderson, Cindy Bester, Jonathan Buitendag, Kristie Van Zyl and other cabaret favourites taking to the stage.
The cast will be backed by all-star musicians, including Jacques du Plessis on piano and Buitendag on drums.
Roll of the Dice will take the form of a gamble as with each roll of the dice, the next number will be revealed, giving audiences a different show every night.
As in previous years, each night will belong to a specific charity. Audiences can support their favourite charity by booking tickets for a specific night with proceeds to be donated to that charity. This year’s charities include Hope Schools, AW Barnes Primary, Guardians of Hope, Greensleeves, Down Syndrome Amathole and more.
Tickets range between R100 and R130 per person depending on the charity, and audiences can bring picnic baskets to enjoy throughout the performance.
Performances start at 7.30pm. Audiences are encouraged to follow the sophisticated dress code to stand a chance to win the prize for the best dressed couple.
