Youth vie for top award

- MADELEINE CHAPUT

THE Inspiration Awards, in conjunction with the Daily Dispatch and Johnson & Johnson Local Heroes, has launched the Inspiring Youth Schools Campaign.

The campaign, which runs throughout this month, searches for inspirational stories on how the Buffalo City youth are helping with the transformation of their communities.

To enter, candidates must upload a three-minute video showing the inspiring work they are doing to transform their community to the Inspiration Awards Facebook page.

An online application form must also be filled in.

Entries close on March 28 and eight finalists will be announced next month.

These finalists will each receive R2 000 in vouchers from partnering companies – Vodacom4U and PnA Stationers.

Other sponsors and partners include LinkFM and Iguana Media.

Finalists stand a chance to be nominated as Local Heroes and receive R20 000 each, as well as presenting and having their story voted as the most inspirational at the Inspiration Awards breakfast which will be held at Mercedes Benz on May 17.

The finalist with the most inspirational story will win a further R40 000.
