Talent showcase set to enthral audiences

THE PNA Ultimate Performer is back for another vibrant and talent-filled showcase starting with preliminary rounds next weekend at Vincent Park.

Now in its eighth year, the annual showcase, organised by Performance Platform, has seen many talented performers display and advance their skills through the event.

This year, two new and exciting elements will be introduced in an effort to boost performers and offer everybody the chance to demonstrate their talents.

The first novelty will see the introduction of a training element to the showcase with a rehearsal day that will see top local performers, teachers and allround stage gurus offer workshops for all the performers taking part.

The likes of Kerry Hiles, Vicky Luff, Daniel Anderson, Jen Bryson-Moorcroft and Nerina le Roux will be sharing the finer points of their talents with performers.

The other exciting addition to this year’s event is the introduction of the disabled category as suggested by Page Group director Darryl Eberhardt. He is hoping to see performers of all ability levels and walks of life take to the stage in this year's event. This category is dedicated to giving everyone a platform to showcase their talents.

“The Page Group’s PnA is excited to be the naming sponsor again this year and we can’t wait to see what new talent East London has to offer,” said PnA representative Heinrich Fuls.

“We encourage all performers to enter and we are particularly excited about the disabled category this year.”

The semifinal and final rounds of the event will be taking place on March 24 and 25, respectively, at the Guild Theatre.

This year a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Guardians of Hope. For anyone interested in taking part and battling it out for the title of PnA Ultimate Performer, entry forms can be completed online at www.page-el.co.za or on Saturday at PnA from 9am to 2pm.
