55 suspects arrested on various charges

-

THE King William’s Town cluster police arrested 55 suspects as part of Operation Fiela at the weekend.

Police spokesman Captain Siphokazi Mawisa said the suspects, aged between 23 and 56, were taken into custody on a range of charges from fraud to assault and business robbery. Police also seized dagga. Traffic officials also assisted in the arrests of three suspects for drunken driving.

King William’s Town cluster commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga thanked the police for tracing the suspects.

Ngubelanga also warned community members not to buy stolen goods, as it amounted to aiding and abetting criminals.

Residents are urged to report criminal activities to the police on 08600-10111 or on 32211 or at the nearest police station. – Go! reporter
