MOTHERS CELEBRATED
A PARTNERSHIP between NNA Promotions & Events company and the Steve Biko Centre with the help of generous contributions from sponsors resulted in a successful high tea and lunch event on Mother’s Day over the weekend.
The well-organised event was held at the Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg and saw an appreciative audience consisting mostly of mothers, being entertained with live performances by DJ and saxophonist Natz Efx along with the Covered Jazz Band.
Mothers were also pampered with special gifts aplenty, participated in lucky draws and won incredible prizes with the compliments from the sponsors.
NNA Promotions & Events marketing manager Naomi Maqam laid out the aim of the event.
“Our strategic objective is to inspire, motivate and spoil mothers on their special day. We believe Mother’s Day should be declared a day-off for all mothers from all their routines and chores,” Maqam said.
“With this year’s Mother’s Day we will want to pamper and spoil our mothers with a lovely relaxed and funfilled day as we truly believe that this day is for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers.”
TruFM radio personality Apostle Bathandwa Kwatsha later took to the stage as the day’s motivational speaker while Frere Hospital CEO Dr Rolene Wagner made the keynote address.
Lerato Pholo who knew about the event, decided to surprise her mother, Pumla Pholo, 64.
“I am the last born in my family and through bringing my mom here I wanted to show her my love and how much I appreciate her as my mom,” said Lerato.
Pakamisa senior and mother of six children Phumlani Ndabeni-Joy said: “I am so blessed and feel so special today after my son who was also dressed in the same colour suit as my outfit brought me here. I have already received 54 calls of well wishes from my kids and grandchildren.”
