KING PUPIL QUEEN OF THE PAGEANT
HOËRSKOOL De Vos Malan Grade 7 pupil Caitlyn Cassels will be participating in the Toddler and Tween of the World pageant in Klerksdorp from August 9 to 11.
The 13-year-old head girl will compete against the winners of all nine provincial events as the Eastern Cape representative.
An admission fee of R2000 must be raised by each contestant.
According to Toddler and Tween of the World director Bonita van der Westhuizen, “there will be amazing prizes for the contestants, with our main objective being to help our charity. Last year we were able to help 621 children with Christmas boxes, as well as 22 needy families.”
The regional event, organised by Rihnaj Models Management Incorporated, saw contestants showcasing their talent to the joy of their parents in a packed Breidbach Hall, with three-year-old Caitlyn Olivier crowned as the winning toddler.
Rihnaj Models manager Brendan Gosling, Lemeac Bezuidenhout, Naomi Esterhuis and Leech Mullighan were the judges.
Cassels’s mother, Senolene, was overjoyed at the overwhelming support for the event.
“Thank you to Breidbach and Schornville for attending. Your presence helped to make this evening a phenomenal success.”
Family friend Angelique Hill said: “We have no words to thank the community for their support and will once again call on them when we host a high tea as fundraiser for Caitlyn at the Schornville community hall on July 14.”
Tickets for the high tea fundraiser are R100 and available from Angelique on 084-061-9545 or Senolene on 079-495-916.
