Local Heroes Gala Ceremony will take place on February 25

- GO REPORTER

The annual Local Heroes Gala Ceremony will take place on Thursday February 25 2021, at 6pm, at the East London ICC.

The popular East London event has grown in popularity amongst both local residents and throughout the Eastern Cape.

“Daily Dispatch is delighted and grateful for the continued support of our sponsors including, Johnson & Johnson, our Naming Rights partner, who has been with us from the inception of the initiative in 2015, and Vincent Park that has supported us from the early days of starting the initiative.

“This year we also welcome new sponsors including SPAR, Boxer, and Boston City Campus and Business College," said Daily Dispatch marketing manager Jennilee PeremoreOliver.

The master of ceremonies is Lee-Ann Manas, who will direct the fairytale-themed event and reveal the Top 12 Local Heroes and the Frontline Hero on the night.

“The theme of this year's event was inspired by the idea of how our Local heroes prove to us that anything is possible and that you can live your dreams. Therefore, we envisage to bring a fairytale to life on the night for all guests,” PeremoreOliver said.

The fairytale theme will come to life through décor, music, and more.

“Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, only 250 people will be able to attend the event. In the past, we've had more than 350 people in attendance.

“Therefore, seats are limited, and we urge readers to book their ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

By booking early, attendees benefit from the early bird price discount until December 31 2020, paying only R540 per ticket or R5,250 for ten tickets.

From January 1 2021, tickets are priced at R590 per ticket, or R5,700 for ten tickets.

“The gala ceremony is a truly inspirational evening where we honour ordinary people who do magical things that seem impossible to most.

“When you leave the venue, you feel positive and inspired to dream about making your own changes in the community.

“It is not only about honouring our local heroes, but the evening is also about envisioning what is possible,” said Peremore-Oliver.
