It’s time for BAKING BREAD!

BOOK NOW! HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

-

After last year’s popular bread-making workshops, you told us that you feel ready to roll up your sleeves once more. So we’re baking bread in Stellenbosch again, and we’re also heading north, to Hartbeespoort and Bloemfontein.

In the colder months, especially, few things are as comforting as eating a slice of warm bread straight out of the oven. Just imagine: a thick topping of butter, cheese and apricot jam…

When you think of freshly baked sourdough, a French baguette or a good old farm loaf, it’s clear that life is too short for factory-produced bread. The good news is that it really is easy to bake a loaf yourself: All you need is flour, yeast, salt and water, and, of course, an expert to show you how it should be done.

That is why we have asked Christophe Dehosse (Stellenbosch), Annelien Pienaar (Hartbeespoort) and Marcelle Botha (Bloemfontein) – all of them old hands when it comes to baking bread – to present our three workshops.

Of course we won’t only be working at these sessions. In-between baking bread there’ll also be plenty of fun and laughter, and we will sit down to share a delectable meal served with wine.

Don’t delay because places are limited. When and where? Saturday 23 July: Joostenberg Deli and Bistro, Stellenbosch • Saturday 3 September: Bos-en-Berg Guest Farm, Hartbeespoort • Saturday 17 September: Demo-Den, Bloemfontein Price R1 290 per person. This includes the workshop*; recipes; ingredients; coffee, tea and pastries; and a two-course lunch with examples of how to use the dough. Also included is a Platteland goodie bag with, among other things, an apron, a mixing bowl and a subscription to the digital magazine, and everyone takes home three freshly baked breads. Bookings Send an email to Donvé Myburgh at donve.myburgh@media24. com or call her on 021 443 9830. We have space for only 24 bakers per workshop, so make sure you’re one of the first 24 people to book and pay.
