There are several beautiful hiking trails in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve – a comfortable hour’s hike to an overnight trail where you’ll see indigenous vegetation, views of Hermanus, Maanskynbaai and Walker Bay, and perhaps a whale or two between June and November.

A 15km mountain-bike trail winds through the reserve: in about 90 minutes you’ll pass along the Mossel River, through indigenous forest and on coastal paths.

Mondays to Friday 08:00-16:00; Saturdays and public holidays 09:00-12:00

Shortly before the circle on the north side of the village leading to the beaches, turn left into Fir Lane where the sign says “Fernkloof Nature Reserve”.
