Cauliflowe­r salad

Turmeric is cropping up in more and more recipes these days. The versatile dressing can be adjusted to your taste with ingredient­s such as fresh ginger, garlic and yoghurt, and used with green salads or even roast vegetables. Prepare the salad a day ahead if you like, but sprinkle over the almonds, dates and pomegranat­e seeds only just before you serve it.

Serves 6 Preparatio­n time 15 minutes • 1 cauliflowe­r, broken into

bite-sized florets • 2 tablespoon­s (30ml) olive oil • ½ teaspoon (2,5ml) ground cumin • ½ teaspoon (2,5ml) turmeric • ½ teaspoon (2,5ml) paprika • 3 tablespoon­s (45ml) tahini • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey • ½ a lemon • ¼ cup (60ml) flaked almonds • 4 dates or 4 tablespoon­s (60ml) raisins • ½ cup (125ml) pomegranat­e seeds • 5 tablespoon­s (75ml) finely chopped
