Owner of Banana Box Henk and his father, Seef, took over the former Fish Eagle Supermarket 13 years ago and established it as the place where the locals do their shopping. You’ll find all you need, from groceries and hardware to toys and magazines. And meat: Henk makes most of his products, such as wors and russians, himself, and also processes venison for people. “Many folks come here to retire,” he says, “because life is wonderful here. You cannot live any closer to nature – sometimes you hear a leopard running on the roof, and other times you will bump into a hippo walking in the street. It’s really fantastic.”
