How to get there?

The Boplaas gate is about 2 km beyond the CapeNature office at the western end of the kloof (about 52 km from the Gamkaskloof turn-off on the Swartberg Pass). You need a code to enter.

Things to do:

• Cycle. Bring your mountain bike and explore the gravel roads on the farm. • Sundowners. In the late afternoon, walk west along the road up Rugbrekersnek for sunset views (about 40 minutes). • Hike. There are several hikes in the area, but all the trails are unmarked. Try the historical Die Leer (two hours) at Kleinberg – the residents of the kloof once used this trail to get to Prince Albert. You can also walk along the river. Look for birds and rock art. For more information about the various trails, contact Lida Louw ( diehel2boplaas@gmail.com). • Swim. Some of the cottages have splash pools. You can also swim in a river pool called Oom Hannes se Gat.
