Come glamping with us
How does it work?
This is slackpacking at its best over four days and four nights in the company of expert guides. Group size is restricted to 14 people. Just bring your hiking shoes, a walking stick, your camera, binoculars and a daypack. Everything else is covered: accommodation, all meals, entrance fees to nature reserves and transport from one trail to the next. We’ll even collect you and drop you off at the Plettenberg Bay airport if you fly in. CemAir offers daily flights to Plett from Cape Town and Joburg.
Where do I stay?
There are two accommodation options: Stay in lodges or camp with us – two nights at Diepwalle Forest and two nights next to the Keurbooms River. We provide spacious canvas tents with stretchers, linen and towels. Each campsite has good ablution facilities. Glamping costs R8 950 per person sharing; R11 635 single rate. The lodge option costs R10 950 per person sharing; single supplement costs an additional 30 %. You’ll stay in select three- and four-star country lodges in the Plett and Crags areas. Day 1: Meet up at the Diepwalle campsite late in the afternoon and enjoy supper around the campfire.
Day 2: Guide Meagan Vermaas will lead you on the Circles in the Forest trail. Afterwards, you’ll have lunch at Totties in Rheenendal and take a walk through the Diepwalle Forest.
Day 3: Today, you’ll hike from Nature’s Valley to Keurboomstrand, stopping halfway for lunch at Forest Hall. While you’re walking, the camp will be moved to Keurbooms River.
Day 4: Another full day of guided hiking in the coastal forest and along the beach on the beautiful Kranshoek Trail just west of Plettenberg Bay.
Day 5: Robberg is on the menu today, and so is a final picnic lunch before we say goodbye.*
Dates: 27 – 31 October 2017; 24 – 28 November 2017; 2 – 6 March 2018 *The programme can be adapted on the final day if you’d rather go horse riding or paddling, but these activities will cost extra. The price includes accommodation for the five-day trail, all meals, transfers, professional guides, picnic lunches, airport collections and conservation fees. None of the trails and hikes along the coast and through the indigenous forests have been affected by the recent fires around Plettenberg Bay.
