Never a dull moment in the Kgalagadi
Our first trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park did not disappoint. I got to see a cheetah kill, large herds of giraffe and springbok, a wildebeest birth, a leopard trying to catch a bird, an African wildcat, a mongoose killing a dove, meerkats, squirrels, ostriches, hyenas fighting in a waterhole and so much more. As we were heading home, we came across two lionesses near Twee Rivieren. They blended into their surroundings so beautifully – if you blinked you would have missed them. We clicked away on our cameras and I managed to get this lioness yawning. Those teeth! I’m glad I was in the car… Kgalagadi, you’ll see me again. TRACEY LEAH THOMSON, Krugersdorp
