The one that got away...

In September 2017, we saw three cheetahs near the Middelvlei waterhole on the H1-6 between Mopani and Letaba in the Kruger Park. A female cheetah and two cubs crossed the road and walked into the tall grass. When we saw the cheetahs again, one of them had caught a steenbok. The big cat looked like it didn’t quite know what to do with its prey. The steenbok tried to escape, but one of the young cheetahs caught it again. It finally broke loose and got away. There was only one other vehicle besides ours watching the drama unfold.
