Drama in fairyland

Vincent comes to the aid of his son Cedric, who is stranded in a pond of mushrooms… It took Marcus about an hour to set up this scene, using a bowl of water, broccoli and leaves for the middle ground, shimeji mushrooms and a glass pane dotted with sugar for the bokeh effect in the background (those out-of-focus points of light). Behind the glass, he used a sheet of old wrapping paper for colour.

HOW? Nikon D800, Nikkor 105 mm macro lens, shutter speed 1/60 second, aperture f8, ISO 100, with a tripod, three flashes, a spotlight and a 10-inch gold reflector.
