CLEMENGOLD, HONEY AND ROSEMARY PORK CHOPS
This is a delicious, easy-to-make weekend meal that you can prepare on the stove or on a braai.
Simple, tasty and affordable, these pork chops are a weekend winner that you’ll make again and again. The sweet, sticky honey and ClemenGold marinade is so versatile, you can also use it to marinate chicken wings or make a roast chicken with a difference.
4 ClemenGold mandarins ½ cup honey ¼ cup white wine vinegar salt and pepper pinch of chilli flakes (optional) 8 pork chops fresh rosemary
1 Zest and juice the 4 ClemenGold mandarins and pour the juice, zest and naartjie flesh into a large bowl. Whisk in the honey, vinegar and salt and pepper, and chilli flakes (if using) until combined. 2 Place the pork chops in a deep dish or large roasting bag. Pour the ClemenGold mixture over and add some rosemary. Marinate overnight. 3 Remove the pork chops from the marinade. 4 Heat a saucepan over mediumhigh heat. Pour in the ClemenGold marinade and cook to reduce to a syrupy consistency. 5 Heat a large griddle pan until it’s hot and cook the pork chops in batches until done, basting with the ClemenGold sauce. (Alternatively you can braai them over hot coals.) 6 Serve with some fresh rosemary and ClemenGold zest and side dishes of your choice (like mash potatoes and grilled vegetables).
