Easy ways to save water in and around your home
We are all by now consciously working with on an awareness of good practice in water usage. We are also all aware that there is a need to consolidate these practices within the community, flowing from which it would be appreciated, that a joint community practice performance would have a beneficial result. Although our planet is covered by oceans, only one percent of water in the world is drinkable. The girls affiliated to Girl Guides GraaffReinet were taught how to read municipal water metres recently. Here are a couple of Girl Guide ‘Teddies’ practising what they were taught.

There are several ways that people can save water in and around the home that will bring down monthly water bills and, more importantly, reduce water usage.
It is important to make sure that once a tap has been used it is closed properly. Showering will use far less water than bathing, provided that the shower is less than five minutes long.
When opting to shave at the basin, it is best to plug the basin rather than rinsing the razor with running water. Remember to turn off the tap when brushing teeth. This will save around 20 litres of water per month.
