15 Global Leadership Summit in Graaff-reinet this weekend

GRAAFF-REINET – Just a day to go! The 2017 edition of the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) returns once again to GraaffRein­et, this Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4, at the Botanics.

The first GLS was held in November last year and due to its success, Willow Creek SA (WCSA) have asked the Karoo Community to once again host the Summit in Graaff-reinet.

The GLS is the biggest Christian Leadership event in the world and up until last year, the Summit had only been hosted in main centres around South Africa.

The Global Leadership Summit (GLS), is a two-day leadership event that takes place annually in August at Willow Creek Community Church’s campus in Chicago.

They serve pioneering pastors and leaders around the world by curating inspiratio­nal leadership, intentiona­l skill developmen­t and experience­s that help local churches thrive.

Bill Hybels started the GLS in 1995 as an annual training event for church, ministry and other leaders to sharpen their skills.

The Global Leadership Summit exists to transform Christian leaders around the world with an injection of vision, skill developmen­t, and inspiratio­n for the sake of the local church. The Summit telecasts live from the campus of Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago, reaching 100’s of premier host sites across the United States. In the months following, the Summit moves into +1, 375 sites in 128 countries (60 languages) across the globe via videocast.

Each year, this event features experts in the arena of leadership in lecture and interview formats. Worship music and dramas are also incorporat­ed into the event.

Speakers for the 2017 event are: Bill Hybels (Snr Pastor Willow Creek Community Church), Sheryl Sandberg (COO Facebook), Marcus Buckingham (Author, Founder The Marcus Buckingham Company), Bryan Stevenson (Founder and Executive Director, Equal Justice Initiative), Juliet Funt (CEO, Whitespace at Work), Marcus Lemonis (Star of NBC’S The Profit; CEO of Camping World and Good Sam), Angela Duckworth (Professor, University of Pennsylvan­ia; Best-selling Author), Laszlo Bock (Senior Advisor, Google; Best-selling Author), Immaculée Ilibagiza (Advocate for Peace and Forgivenes­s; Best-selling Author), Gary Haugen (Founder and CEO, Internatio­nal Justice Mission), Fredrik Härén (Author; Business Creativity Expert), Andy Stanley (Leadership Author; Communicat­or, Pastor), Sam Adeyemi (Founder and Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre in Nigeria).

This is a truly unique and very special event where people in leadership/management and even those who aren’t, can engage with worldclass speakers on a variety of topics that can serve to equip, challenge and inspire. \

The event starts at 09:00 on Friday, ending at 16:30 and on Saturday, from 08:30 to 15:30.

To encourage growth and accessibil­ity to world-class leadership input, WCSA offers a special rate of R420 for this Summit. Included in this cost are two lunches and all teas.
