Stray animals

GRA is already tackling dozens of issues, asking questions, raising problems, applauding good work and today we are launching a petition to end the free-roaming of livestock, donkeys, cattle and goats in the streets of Grahamstown.

We will announce more venues on facebook, at present you can sign the petition at Fusion situated in Pepper Grove mall.

The petition will be complete on 16 September in time to present it to the first full council meeting in September.

If you want to collect signatures for the petition please email: info@grahamstownresidentsassociation.co.za putting PETITION VOLUNTEER in the subject line.

Improving communications

A great deal of what goes wrong in Makana is due to poor communications.

Most of us are only aware of the frustration of not being kept informed about developments, or not being able to contact someone when we have a problem.

This issue is actually far more serious – the same dysfunctional communications also adversely effects Makana personnel who fail to talk to each other.

For example: How often have you seen excavations to repair a pipe left open for months because the water department have failed to inform the road repair department?

At 10am on Thursday 1 September at City Hall there will be a Communicator’s Forum.

If you wish to join this discussion, you can attend: please inform the Makana Communications Officer by email: makana.gov.za or 046 603 6033/6169 phone
