Ward councillors election ‒ communication failure
I was delighted that meetings for the election of ward committees were to be held and duly went to my Ward 8 meeting, only to discover that the city hall venue was padlocked and barred.
Subsequently, I learnt that all the meetings had been postponed because the regulations concerning meeting times had not been observed. This information was gleaned from Facebook and sent out by the GRA.
Why was there no notice at the venue or the Ward 8 councillor there to tell us of the postponement? What if one is not on Facebook? This is yet another instance of poor communication between municipal officials, councillors and the public.
It is surely time for a column in Grocott’s Mail where the municipal officials and councillors can inform the public of municipal business.
