St Andrew’s and DSG sports

The DSG and St Andrew’s College athletes were in top form during the annual Sports Day which took place on Lower Field, during Balloon Week. Kelvin Boateng-Aidoo won the much anticipate­d U19 100m race and achieved Colours. James Quarmby also cleared the Colours height in the U17 high jump, while Ross Ferguson was awarded Colours for achieving Standard performanc­es in three different events. The only St Andrew’s athlete to set a new record was Jason Thomas in the U14 pole vault. Overall winning house was Merriman with 310 points, followed by Graham (284), Upper (277), Armstrong (244), Mullins (205) and Espin (148). Toni Rafferty of DSG broke the 400m U15 record in a time of 1.02.40.
