ous donation of food, blankets and money. Some of this donation afforded us the ability to provide a recovery pack of blankets, bowls, food etc to go home with each dog we sterilised. The boys also got the chance to see around the Grahamstown SPCA and understand more about what we do for the community and they were lucky to be able to meet some of the vets on site on the day and to ask them questions about their jobs.
We were also very privileged to have two visiting vets from the UK who observed the day and found some of the challenges and issues that we deal with here very emotional and humbling.
All in all the day was a complete success and the owners of the dogs and other animals we helped were so pleased. We are so grateful to all who helped and supported us.
The Grahamstown SPCA encourages educational visits and can conduct talks for all ages of children and adults. We see education as an extremely valuable and important part of the work we do in the community. If you would like more information, or to book a visit for your school, university, college etc please email us at
Our next fundraising event will be at the Grahamstown Bowling Club Night Bowls event on 21 and 22 February. We are selling tickets for a cake raffle and are encouraging volunteers to sign up. We look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you so much for your continued support for your SPCA.
For a great way to start the year, why not adopt one of our kennels for the year? Details on Facebook.
Please follow us on Facebook and have a look at our adoption photo albums. This is where you will find write ups and pictures of all the animals we have up for adoption.
