Bl­itzbokke look to bounce back

The Spring­bok sev­ens team will be look­ing to bounce back from their sec­ond place fin­ish in Syd­ney over the past week­end as they head into the New Zealand leg of the HSBC Sev­ens World Se­ries this week­end. The tour­na­ment kicks off on Satur­day 3 Fe­bru­ary at mid­night.

Im­pres­sive wins for GCB teams

South­well 1st, Sta­tion Hill and Early Birds recorded im­pres­sive GCB wins over the past week­end. South­well beat Salem, who are top of the GCB 1st league stand­ings, by four wick­ets, while Sta­tion Hill beat Port Al­fred 2nds by 59 runs, and Early Birds beat Salem 2nds by 60 runs.

NMB Aquat­ics Open Wa­ter Cham­pi­onships this week­end

Satur­day af­ter­noon sees the start of a busy month of open wa­ter swim­ming in the East­ern Cape with the Nel­son Man­dela Bay Aquat­ics 10km and 3km Open Wa­ter Swim­ming (OWS) Cham­pi­onships tak­ing place at Ma­rina Mar­tinique from 1pm. This is one of the last op­por­tu­ni­ties for swim­mers from around the coun­try to qual­ify for the South African OWS Cham­pi­onships at the same venue next month.

South­ern Kings still in search of first win

The South­ern Kings will travel to Ulster, Ire­land next week, Satur­day 9 Fe­bru­ary, in search of their first win in their de­but Pro14 sea­son. De­spite con­sis­tently putting up strong per­for­mances, the Kings al­ways seem to fall at the fi­nal hur­dle. How­ever they will hope to go the dis­tance next Satur­day.

SA U19 Cricket fin­ish strong in World Cup

The SA U19 cricket team fin­ished strong in their last World Cup match in New Zealand, when they de­feated Bangladesh on Wednesday. The South Africans eased to vic­tory by eight wick­ets, with 69 balls to spare, to come in fifth place over­all in the World Cup.
