A colourful corner
There’s lots to look at in the guest loo! Chireze’s cheerful yellow has been repeated in the imbuia sideboard, which now serves as a vanity. “I wanted to go all out, which is why I used all my favourite colours and items in this space,” she says.
The ‘tiles’ on the wall are vinyl stickers from Robin Sprong interspersed with ordinary tiles that Chireze discovered at various markets or received from her mother-in-law, Mila Venter. Above the hand basin, she’s painted a geometric pattern in her other favourite colours: Cape Salmon, Morning Jewel 1 and Hawaiian Blue 6 from the Dulux Rich Matt range as well as Annie Sloan’s English Yellow.
The pendants and hand basin were custom made by Abraham Makwari who has a stall at the Sedgefield market.
