Here’s how...

1 Download and print the Moroccan doorway template from homemag.co.za. It consists of several A4 pages; if you print all the pages and stick them together, you’ll have a template that will fit a standard-size door. Before you stick the pages onto the wall, cut the template out along the outlines.

2 Position the template above your doorway and secure it in place with Prestik. Trace the shape on the wall with a pencil.

3 Extend the sides of the pattern to the floor using a spirit level. Mask the straight lines and around the door frame with blue painter’s masking tape.

4 Carefully paint the pattern using a paintbrush and PVA; apply two coats of paint, allowing the paint to dry between coats. Once the second coat has dried thoroughly, you can remove the tape. >>
