YOU WILL NEED

SHOPPING LIST

• paint in the colour of your choice for the base colour

• universal undercoat, such as Dulux Supergrip

• water-based size (silver leaf glue)

• silver leaf (we used two books of silver leaf, available at craft stores)

• silver or aluminium metallic powder

• varnish such as Dulux Woodgard Timbavarnish Waterbased

TOOLS

• sandpaper

• sponge rollers, paint trays, paintbrushes and drop sheets (to apply the paint and varnish)

• soft, flat paintbrush (to apply the glue)

• sponge brush (to apply the silver leaf)

• wide, soft paintbrush made of natural fibres (to smooth out the silver leaf)

• soft, thin paintbrush (for metallic powder)
