Pillay says: it’s important to use Hammerite Direct to Rust to prevent rust on metal coatings. Opt for a paint in either a hammered finish with a metallic sheen or a smooth glossy finish for a high sheen.

Hammerite Direct to Rust metal paint now features an even stronger protection against rust with new Dualtech, which provides two-way protection by repelling water and stopping rust. This keeps the metal protected for longer; be sure to always refer to the technical data sheet before use.

Hammerite Direct to Rust can be applied directly onto all prepared, new or rusted ferrous metal surfaces. For non-ferrous metal (galvanized; aluminium), first prime with Hammerite Special Metal Primer.
