Struggling with rough, uneven walls? Marketing manager of Dulux South Africa Nonkululeku Mcunu offers the following tips: Walls should be clean and dry before stencilling and it’s ideal to stencil onto a wall that is as smooth as possible, she says.

If your wall is textured or uneven, apply Dulux Pre-paint Smoothover with a wet plastering trowel or similar tool, creating multiple thin layers rather than one thick coat. Allow it to dry for at least two hours before sanding with 100-grit sandpaper until you have a smooth surface on which to paint. >>
