Get a tiled effect
Create a ‘tiled’ concrete floor with a stencil; follow these simple steps from paint specialist Marlene Rheeder Kruger: 1 Choose a colour lighter or darker than your floor so that the pattern stands out. 2 Secure the stencil in position with masking tape and then use a sponge roller to apply the paint on the stencil, working from the centre of the floor outwards. Make sure your roller is dry before you start and don’t dilute the paint: the less paint, the better – otherwise the lines will smudge. 3 Repeat until the floor is covered then seal with three layers of colourless polyurethane sealant.
